Can A Small Patch make a BIG Difference in Healthy Aging?

Can a small patch make a big difference in Healthy Aging?

Help us find out and take an active step towards better mobility, strength and recovery.

As we age, staying active and independent becomes more important—and more challenging. Aging is associated with decreased muscle endurance and strength, which is accelerated by a sedentary lifestyle. According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data, the average adult reports a sedentary time of 6 hours per day. This has consequences of reduced physical function and the potential to lead to increased risk of mobility impairment.

Sedentary habits can reduce strength, endurance, and overall mobility.

In today’s market, various methods such as performance-enhancing substances, are available as an adjunct to training programs to help accelerate improvements in physical performance. However, these pharmacological agents can pose significant concerns for adverse health events and are not commonly sought out by community-dwelling older adults who do not participate in competitive sports. This presents an opportunity to identify alternative strategies for enhancing physical performance, as well as recovery, that resonate more broadly among all age groups and the diversity of needs and preferences. Non-invasive technology, such as light-based therapy patches, provides users with the potential for health and wellness benefits without stimulating ingredients  entering the body.

What is this study about?

We are inviting adults 50 years and older with sedentary lifestyles to take part in a clinical trial investigating the safety and effectiveness of a non-transdermal patch that may support physical performance and wellness through light-based (photo-biomodulation) therapy This study looks for muscle strength, endurance, physical performance, and general wellness outcomes
