Reducing Cancer-Related Fatigue Study for Adults (In-Person OR Virtual)

INVESTIGATING A GINSENG-BASED SUPPLEMENT ON CANCER-RELATED FATIGUE IN ADULTS WHO HAVE RECEIVED CANCER TREATMENT.

Dealing with cancer is exhausting. Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of cancer as well as one of the most common side effects from cancer treatments. Cancer-related fatigue (is more than just being tired at the end of the day, it is the inability to get out of bed, the lack of motivation to do anything and just an overwhelming tiredness that affects you mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Ginseng has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Ginseng’s ability to prevent abnormal cell production and growth give it the potential to have anti-cancer benefits by regulating the normal cell growth cycle. Due to Ginseng’s many health benefits, it has been suggested that Ginseng may have a beneficial effect for cancer related fatigue. Previous studies, on Redsenol-1 Ginseng extract supplement, have suggested that Redsenol-1 has a role in decreasing cancer related fatigue.

In this Health Canada and Institutional Review board approved study, adults will be provided with either Redsenol-1 or Placebo. Redsenol-1 has been suggested to have a role in decreasing cancer-related fatigue in previous studies. You will be instructed to take the study  product regularly over 12 weeks, and during your meeting with study staff, you will complete questionnaires, your heart rate and blood pressure will be measured. During your screening vist and 12 weeks after participation your blood will be tested to ensure overall health. On the 16th week the study will contact your to check your wellbeing.

Qualified Participants earn up to $600 with successful enrollment

5 visits virtually or in-clinic.

KGK Science is looking for participants who have currently been diagnosed with cancer and are experiencing cancer-related fatigue who want to help further research on combating symptoms of cancer.

Eligible participants will need to be:

  • Age 18+
  • Have been experiencing Cancer-Related Fatigue
  • Not scheduled to undergo further treatment for the duration of the study
  • Be willing to maintain current lifestyle habit for the duration of the study.
  • Available for 6 visits either in-person or virtually for 16 weeks.
